Gunnar Smoliansky was born 1933 in Visby and studied photography at the School of Photography in Stockholm. He works exclusively with black and white photography and during his lifetime he has been capturing everything that has come in his way, which has led to a number of exhibitions and books. He is mostly recognized and honoured for his documentation of Stockholm and and especially the part called Södermalm where he has been photographing small fractions of our everyday life.
