Tuija Lindström

Tuija Lindström was one of Sweden’s foremost photographic artists, born 1950 in Kotka, Finland. She finished her studies at Konstfack, Stockholm in 1984 and later became very noted for her black and white pictures of women floating in a black lake, called ”Girls at Bull’s Pond”. Her pictures at this time adressed feminist issues but from a different perspective than has previously been customary in Sweden. She has had a lot of different international exhibitions, and was the first female professor of photography in Sweden.
